From Crafty Beginnings in 2003
Leaf Street began in 2003, born from a mother’s desire to balance work and family life. After years of making and selling crafts at local fairs and with plenty of encouragement from friends, Emma decided to take the leap. Just after welcoming her third child, and with a nudge of support from her husband, she opened a little shop on one of Exeter’s most vibrant independent streets; Magdalen Road.
What began as a creative side project soon grew into something much more: a welcoming boutique known for its warmth, individuality and thoughtful products.
A Note from Emma
“I just wanted to do something creative and build a business around being a full-time mum of three children ,while bringing a bit of joy to others. I still feel incredibly lucky every day to open the shop, chat with customers and fill the space with beautiful, useful things that people genuinely love. Leaf Street has changed and grown over the years, but it’s always stayed true to that original purpose: to make people feel welcome, inspired and seen.”

Over two decades on, Leaf Street is still proudly family-run, and still full of character. Emma and the team continue to handpick everything with care sourcing from local makers, small UK brands and sustainable suppliers.
